Dad's parenting statements a hit
One of Ripperger's statements-turned-artwork.
As most parents would agree, kids sometimes do really random things. And sometimes, when you want your child to stop doing that random thing, you hear yourself uttering words you never would have thought you would ever have to say: "Stop throwing sand in the toilet." "Can you please take those socks off your ears?" "Toast is not cat food."
Nathan Ripperger, a dad of two from Iowa, has done something constructive with these moments, creating a series of posters based on the times he's thought, "I can't believe I just said that". And in the few weeks he's been selling the posters on Etsy, he's become an internet sensation, featuring on BuzzFeed and Huffington Post.
I've been blown away by the response I've gotten from these, but I guess that shows how relatable this experience is as a parent
When speaking about his project with Huffington Post, Ripperger said, "For me this seemed like the logical thing to do to commemorate these unique times with my children in poster form. I've been blown away by the response I've gotten from these, but I guess that shows how relatable this experience is as a parent."
