For mother-of-two, Kawn Al-Jabbouri, the moment her eldest son first tasted solids is one of her - and her husband's - most precious memories of parenthood.

"We all stood around with cameras at the ready waiting for him to chew those first few mouthfuls," she writes on her blog, Kids Food Universe.

"He liked it! And thus began our wild ride into the world of food with our little one."

Ms Al-Jabbouri began documenting their "wild ride" on Instagram, sharing the healthy, homemade meals she prepared for her baby. She's quickly amassed more than 162,000 dedicated followers - and it's not hard to see why.

"The purpose of making these recipes is to show parents that making homemade baby and toddler food is a much easier process than thought!" she writes on her blog, adding that she used her son's nap times to study techniques and nutritional facts, "on how to introduce solid food."

The Denmark-based mum, who has a toddler and an eight-month-old, provides easy-to-follow recipes, using just a few ingredients. On each post, Ms Al-Jabbouri indicates an approximate age to introduce the specified foods, and provides step-by-step instructions. Even if you're no Master Chef, (like me) it's hard to see where you could go wrong.

There's something for all tastes - and the pictures and video demonstrations are mesmerising.

There's plenty of inspiration for baby finger foods too:

While making baby food from scratch won't suit everyone, for Ms  Al-Jabbouri, it was the right option for her family.

"It is a healthier choice and gives you the chance to control what your baby eats while leaving out the unnecessary food additives, like starch, preservatives, sugar and salt," she writes.

If you can't get enough of her recipes, in conjunction with dietitian and mum-of-two, Gemma Bischoff, Ms  Al-Jabbouri, has now released a book, Baby Food Universe by Kawn Al-jabbour which is available for pre-order here.
